A teen college bully in Connecticut boasted that she could “finally” say goodbye to “Jamaican Barbie” following relentless efforts to expel her roommate that included rubbing used tampons on her backpack, according to authorities.
Former University of Hartford freshman Brianna Brochu made statements on Instagram that she tampered with her roommate’s property, and also posted photos of the property she tampered with.
In addition to causing damage to the backpack, Brochu also said she licked her roommate’s plate, fork and spoon, according to the Hartford Courant.
After her roommate moved out, Brochu appeared to boast about the details of the horrifying bullying in a racist social media post.
“Finally did it yo girl got rid of her roommate!!” she allegedly wrote in an Instagram post, according to the Courant. “After 1 1/2 month of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons oh her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine, and so much more I can finally say goodbye Jamaican Barbie.”
Brochu, 18, said she licked the utensils and admitted to smearing the tampons on the backpack, but told police “anything else she bragged about on social media was a lie in an attempt to ‘appear funny,'” according to the Courant.
She said she did not intend to harm her roommate, but the victim said in a Facebook video that she suffered “severe throat pain” in wake of Brochu’s constant attacks.
Brochu was arrested on Saturday following an investigation, and charged with criminal mischief and breach of peace. She is no longer a student at the University of Hartford, the school said Wednesday.
The school had said in a statement on Tuesday that Brochu’s behavior was “reprehensible and does not reflect the values of our institution.”
“Let me also be clear that I am confident the University has taken all steps to pursue this matter seriously, and will continue to do so,” University of Hartford president Gregory Woodward said.
He added that “racism and hatred will not be tolerated on this campus. Period.”
The bullying arrest has gone viral on social media with TV pioneer Shonda Rhimes, the creator of “Grey’s Anatomy,” lashing out at Brochu.
“That this type of ignorant hate can flourish in 2017 tests my faith in humanity,” Rhimes wrote on Twitter. “Who raised this inhumane ignorant waste of space? Who chose to be her friend and look the other way?”
