The month of February is Teen Dating Awareness month.
Did you know that one out of three teens in the U. S. will be subjected to physical, emotional or sexual abuse from a dating partner before leaving high school?
The Teen Dating Violence Prevention Bill has recently been introduced into the Wisconsin Legislature. Call your state representative today and urge them to co-sponsor this important piece of legislation that will help to address the root causes of domestic violence in our communities. The time to act is now.
People Against a Violent Environment started a teen prevention group. The class is 12 weeks and focuses on healthy relationships. It is open for middle school and high school students.
People Against a Violent Environment also offers weekly teen groups on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. This is a safe place for teens to come and talk about anything they have going on in their lives. If you are a teen or know of a teen that would benefit from these groups, call People Against a Violent Environment at 887-3810 or text our hotline at 920-344-0123 to get more information or to sign up.
