A Lee County teacher is out of jail after being charged with cocaine possession.
Steve Hedrick, 47, teaches technology classes at East Lee County High School, according to a source.
Hedrick is charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested Friday and bonded out Saturday.
Former students said they’re shocked by the allegations.
“He was always on his computer, you know? Cool, calm, and collected,” said Jonathan Santiago.
He said word spread quickly on Facebook that Fort Myers police arrested his former teacher.
“I was staring at my phone for five to ten minutes trying to believe it…but I just couldn’t.”
Hunter Purks is another former East Lee High student.
