Man placed on probation for child pornography offense
A Middletown man was placed on probation after he admitted to child pornography charges.
Frederick William Sharp III, 32, pleaded guilty on May 22 to possession of child pornography with the intent to distribute.
Circuit Court Judge Julie Stevenson Solt placed Sharp on five year’s probation and imposed a $500 fine as well as 100 hours of community service. If Sharp violates that probation, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
Solt decided probation would be appropriate in lieu of jail time because Sharp had no criminal history before or after the 2014 crime.
