The Chesterfield County School District release the following statement regarding the matter:
Earlier this evening, Chesterfield County School District was made aware of a social media message threatening a school shooting at Central High School. We immediately began working with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and they are investigating all potential leads. Based on information from the Sheriff’s office there appears to be no credible threat to student safety. However, in an abundance of caution we will have extra law enforcement on campus tomorrow. As always, student safety is paramount and we will continue working with the Sheriff’s Office.
