General manager Scott Dolohite says all employees are okay. He tells News 5 that one of the suspects, 17-year-old Jamiya Walker is a former employee. She worked at the robbed location about a year ago then moved to the Daphne Sonic, then the Sonic on Montlimar road. He says she quit a few months ago. She hasn’t worked for the company since.
Dolohite tells News 5 the robbery happened just days after they started a new policy of drive-through only starting at midnight. So customers can no longer come through the front door starting at 12 a.m. . The suspects were able to enter before employees locked the door. Dolohite says they are considering locking the door earlier than midnight from now on. They have 6-8 security cameras but they now want the facility to have 16.
Mobile Police say the two male suspects entered the Sonic Drive-in on Cottage Hill Road armed with handguns equipped with lasers.
On Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at approximately 12:11 a.m. police responded to the Sonic Drive-In, 6450 Cottage
Hill Road, in reference to a commercial robbery. The employees stated two male subjects dressed in all black entered the location armed with handguns with lasers on them, removed cash and took the employee’s cell phones. The subjects then fled on foot. Officers located the subjects near Montlimar Park sitting inside a white Ford Focus with a female subject. The cash stolen, handguns and the victim’s cell phones were found inside the vehicle. Bruce Mack III, 18, Tyrek Adams, 18, and Jamiya Walker, 17, were arrested.
Three Mobile teenagers are in Mobile Metro Jail this morning charged with Robbery. According to jail records, Tyrek Adams and Bruce Mack III, both 18, and Jamiya Walker, 17, were booked in around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning charged with three counts of robbery 1st degree each. All the charges are under the same Mobile Police Department case number and appear to be from the same incident.
