Two #teens arrested on #firearms #charges in #Kensington #Market

Two teen boys have been arrested on several fire arms charges, Toronto Police say.

Security guards were patrolling the area around St. Andrew St. and Kensington Ave. in Kensington Market when the boys were spotted smoking marijuana in the stairwell of a garage, according to a police release. The boys fled the scene, and were pursued by the security guards.

After the boys were stopped, police say, the security guards found both teens to be in possession of ski masks. Both boys are facing charges for “disguise with intent” for possessing the masks.

One boy was carrying a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, and two rounds of ammunition. The other carried a BB-gun, the release says.

A 16-year-old Toronto boy is facing seven firearms-related charges.

A 15-year-old boy, also of Toronto, is facing two weapons-related charges, including one charge for possessing an imitation weapon. He is also facing charges for possessing a quantity of marijuana.

Neither teen can be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

They appeared in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
